  • Gel food colors (blue & red)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add egg, buttermilk, and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; combine with wet ingredients without overmixing.
  5. Divide batter into two bowls; color one red and the other blue with gel food coloring.
  6. Chill both batters for 10 minutes.
  7. Scoop equal portions onto a lined baking tray, flatten slightly, and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Cool completely before preparing the filling by beating together butter, marshmallow fluff, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
