  • Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (315g) cake flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cups (350g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temp
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp orange extract (optional for extra punch)
  • 1 cup (240ml) buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-5 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and orange extract if using.
  6. Alternate adding the dry ingredients with buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined; do not overbeat.
  7. Pour batter into prepared bundt pan and smooth the top. Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and pourable for the white glaze.
  9. Whisk powdered sugar with fresh orange juice until glossy for the orange glaze.
  10. Drizzle white glaze over cooled cake first, followed by the orange glaze. Let set for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
