Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and chopped
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Stir in sugar, butter, and gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about an hour.
- While the dough rises, mix chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Spread softened butter over the surface and sprinkle the apple mixture evenly.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log shape, slice into equal pieces (about 2 inches thick), and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Let rolls rise again for about 30 minutes before baking for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
