- 4 firm apples (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- ¼ cup raisins or dried cranberries
- 1 tbsp butter (cut into small pieces)
- ½ cup apple juice or water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
- Wash and core the apples, leaving the bottoms intact.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, chopped nuts, and raisins/dried cranberries.
- Fill each cored apple with the mixture and top with a piece of butter.
- Place stuffed apples upright in a baking dish and pour apple juice or water into the dish.
- Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for about 20 minutes; then remove foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes until tender.
- Serve warm with ice cream or caramel sauce.
