  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup chopped cilantro (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and spices. Add chicken pieces and coat well. Marinate for at least an hour (preferably overnight).
  2. Preheat a grill pan over medium-high heat and cook marinated chicken for about 4–5 minutes on each side until charred.
  3. For the masala sauce, sauté onions in butter until golden brown. Stir in garlic and ginger, followed by tomato paste and crushed tomatoes; simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Slowly stir in heavy cream and add the grilled chicken pieces. Simmer for another five minutes before serving hot.
