- 4 pounds country style beef ribs
- 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (smoky preferred)
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- Optional: crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- In a bowl, mix brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, sea salt, onion powder, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
- Rub half of the spice mixture onto one side of the ribs; flip and repeat on the other side.
- Add water and apple cider vinegar around the ribs in a casserole dish and cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for about 2 hours or until tender; check tenderness with a fork.
- Brush with BBQ sauce and bake uncovered at 275°F for an additional 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with extra BBQ sauce if desired.
